A minor - 3/4 - Melody occurs in all parts. Bowings are only suggested. Some third position in first violin Written for my great-great great Grandfather Samuel Cleland. He was born in Ballywoollen, Down Northern Ireland in July of 1786. At the age of 27 he arrived in Orange County, New York to look for land and decided to go back to Ireland to marry Jane Jean Martin. In 1815 he immigrated to New York with his new wife and bought a stone house with 60 acres. In 1858, he bought a farm in the Janesville Township of Wisconsin. He and his wife had nine children. His son, Samuel Cleland was my great great grandfather. He and his wife Mary Ann McCartney had eight daughters. The eldest was my great grandmother Helen Burnett Cleland.
